What is Sanditon?
The Sanditon TV series is a bold continuation of Jane Austen’s final, unfinished novel. The story follows newcomer Charlotte Heywood’s arrival in a developing seaside resort town, and her budding friendships and romantic possibilities. Charlotte’s epic journey continues in Season 2 and 3, which explore the classic predicament of a young, independent woman making her way in the world.
Sanditon Season 1 premiered in 2020—adapted and created by Emmy® award-winning screenwriter Andrew Davies. The series’ narrative took on its own direction (Austen only completed 11 chapters) as writer Justin Young took the helm as lead writer and executive producer for Seasons 2 and 3, airing in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
