Three Thrilling New Mysteries
From the sudden death of the town’s beloved mayor, to a celebrity chef found dead at the launch of his cookbook, and a deadly university reunion where Becks finds herself among the suspects, The Marlow Murder Club Season 3 promises twists and turns that shocked even the stars of the series.
Jo Martin [Suzie]: “Some of the murders that they’ve constructed in this season have surprised me. I’ve not been able to figure out what the hell is going on, which I think is really clever. Really really smart storylines.”
Samantha Bond [Judith]: “All the scripts have been amazing, and the twists are phenomenal but the ones in An Appetite for Murder are colossal. I defy anyone to work them out. So, [for my favorite mystery this season] I would pick the murder at Gastronomy…”
Cara Horgan [Becks]: “…Becks is still a sleuth trying to piece together the mystery as a Marlow Murder Club member and civilian advisor to the police, but she is also a suspect. It means that she isn’t allowed to interact with Judith, Suzie and Tanika in the same way that she has done on previous murders. It gives that whole story a very different spin for Becks.”
From Sleuths to Fast Friends
The ladies of Marlow have come a long way from being strangers and amateur sleuths in Season 1. When we pick up in Season 3, the murder club are now civilian advisors to the police and are determined to get to the truth, even if that means disobeying Tanika’s orders. Puzzling through so many tough mysteries together — with a shared love for rule-breaking and hijinks — has led this group to become fast friends!
Jo Martin [Suzie]: “[Suzie] is in her element in series three. She has found her stride. She is taking strength from the friendship with Becks and Judith, and she is learning so much more about police procedure. She has thrown herself into it fully. I really like that she has found a much stronger voice this series.”
Cara Horgan [Becks] “[Becks’ mother-in law Marian] ends up staying with Colin and Becks for way longer than they intend. That’s part of her tactless nature. It drives Becks up the wall [this season], so having murders to solve and her friendships with Judith and Suzie are a very helpful escape.”
Natalie Dew [Tanika]: Tanika is now detective inspector: “It’s quite nice for Tanika because now she is boss lady with her new office and a bit of a pay rise. She has more of a confidence in her own decisions. She is not having to battle anyone about having The Marlow Murder Club ladies around, albeit at times it would be ideal if they weren’t.”
Samantha Bond [Judith]: “I think Tanika has learned to put her trust and faith in us [this season].”
Romance Is in the Air
In Season 2, sparks flew between Judith and the handsome professor Darius, and Suzie and Becks weren’t the only ones to take notice. As Judith considers the possibility of more with Darius, Suzie also begins to explore life as an empty-nester, now that her daughter Zeta has gone off to college. Will the single ladies of The Marlow Murder Club find love in Season 3?
Natalie Dew [Tanika]: “We have some surprises for audiences in Season 3. For some characters, you get to see a lot more of their personal life.”
Jo Martin [Suzie]: “You're going to get a little surprise because Suzie is now deciding that she needs some love in her life. And what happens after she makes that decision? Wait and see. I was shocked when I read it. I was like, ‘What, sir? What?’"
“[Suzie is] seeing Judith having her little romance with the Professor. When Judith is reluctant, it’s Suzie saying to her, ‘Go on, girl, get in there. What are you afraid of?’”
Samantha Bond [Judith]: “[Judith] is intrigued by [Darius]. One must remember that Judith has been alone for many, many years so she takes baby footsteps going forward. But I think the baby footsteps are beginning to work by the end of this series.”
