People say, "The internal combustion engine, it's old
technology. Why don't we replace it?" They also say, "Yes,
fuels will eventually run out." The reason we need to focus on
improving engines, finding alternative fuels, using those
fuels better, as well as finding– as looking for some
alternatives, the reason is that there are so many vehicles,
it's going to take a really long time to change to something
else, even if we got something else there, developed and
ready. And we don't yet. So improving engines, and in the
vehicle sense, sort of, reducing vehicle size, vehicle
resistances—drag, things like that - that's how we can
move forward, by keeping our mobility but decreasing, in due
course, greenhouse gas emissions.
