Can we make engines better? That's an area where I and some of
my colleagues, we got a group effort that's looking at that.
How much better could we make engines if we invested extra
money in their components and how we design and build them? If
you look historically, engines have got better at about a
percent or so a year. They get more powerful, they get more
efficient, emissions go down significantly, because engineers
work hard at moving everything forward. And there are a lot
of, a lot of ideas still there on our lists. We could do this
if- if we could sort this out, we could do that. So a lot of
ideas are left, so we expect that continuous improvement, at
this roughly percent or so a year, to continue. Over 20 years,
you get a significant improvement.
