Oil is wonderful stuff. When the Great Russian chemist
Mendeleyev first held up a test tube up and figured out what
was in it and what is was molecularly, he said, "Oh, this is
far too precious to burn." We've been burning it like mad ever
since and in America we burn ten thousand gallons a second.
But we don't need to keep burning that much oil to have the
same mobility we've become accustom to. You know, I have an
efficient car, I average 62 miles a gallon and I tank it up
every couple of months whether it needs it or not and whenever
gas prices go up I feel smarter, but it was a good deal even
at the low gas prices.
