Currently the electric grid is half coal, but it does have
some hydro and it does have nuclear and it does have natural
gas, which are lower emitters of greenhouse gases. So today,
running a car on electricity does save you maybe 30-40 percent
of the greenhouse gases of running it on the gasoline. But in
the future, I expect the grid is going to see more and more
renewable power, and possibly cleaner forms of electricity
from other sources. And that means that cars that run on
electricity are going to be cleaner and greener also.
