American Sign Language
American Sign Language (ASL) is a system of hand gestures
and facial expressions that people who are deaf or hard of
hearing use to communicate. Did you know that ASL is the
fourth most common language in the United States?
A language of hand signs was also widely used by Native
Americans of the Great Plains. The people who shared this
area, from the Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains,
spoke many different languages. Signing was a way for people
from different tribes to communicate with each other.
I'd like to translate some ASL.
