Engineers, hurricane experts, and others tasked with
rebuilding New Orleans' flood barriers are studying the
innovative technological solutions that other flood-prone
cities have come up with. While the situation in New Orleans
is unique and will require a unique solution, elements of
existing or proposed flood defenses in Holland, Venice,
London, St. Petersburg, and even San Antonio, Texas may
