Visual Effects Supervisor, "The X-Files" Mat Beck is the founder of Light Matters, a visual effects company that has provided effects for such feature films as "True Lies," "Strange Days," "The Nutty Professor," "Volcano," "Titanic," and "The X-Files" television series. Beck was also the lead Visual Effects Supervisor for the feature film "The X-Files." He began his career as a camera operator and head of software development for Apogee, Inc. Beck's education was in film, computer science and neurophysiology.
