Pathfinder is a solar-powered, ultra-lightweight research aircraft developed by
AeroVironment Corporation and being tested for environmental research. In 1997,
Pathfinder reached an altitude of 67,350 feet, the highest altitude ever
reached by a solar aircraft. This UAV collects wind and weather data with extremely fine
sensors and snaps digital images at high resolution.
