Pulling Cs and Gs

You may think you have nothing in common with the kinds of forces a fighter pilot experiences. But you may be wrong. Consider this:

You're in the passenger seat of a friend's car and on an important mission: Buy a gallon of skim milk and return by dinnertime. Everything seems to be going fine until your friend realizes she's almost missed the turn-off. Suddenly, she veers sharply left. The tires screech, a dog barks, and the car just barely makes the turn. In all this commotion, what happens to you?

  1. I'm thrown left.
  2. I'm thrown right.
  3. I'm not thrown anywhere.
  4. I get out and find a new friend to drive me around.
