Biography
David Bonsey is an award-winning violin maker and a professional in the field of string instruments since 1980. A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, he served for fourteen years as Director of Fine Musical Instruments and auctioneer for Skinner Inc., bringing some of the world's finest string and fretted instruments to public sale, with many achieving world records. He now works independently as the owner of New York Violin Consulting, Inc. making, restoring, consultant, and appraising classical instruments. He has been a contributor to Forbes, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Strad and Strings. He is a member of the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers and The Violin Society of America, and is currently a candidate for Certified Appraiser Membership in the Appraiser's Association of America.
