Biography
John C. Jones is a tangible asset advisor, independent private broker and USPAP certified generalist appraiser specializing in silver and decorative arts.
A graduate of the Appraisal Studies Program at New York University (NYU). He travels the country speaking for various institutions and organizations including NYU and the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
Mr. Jones is a member of the Appraisers Association of America, The Decorative Arts Trust of Philadelphia and is a licensed Continuing Education Instructor for Chubb Personal Insurance. On the list of recommended appraisers for Chubb's Masterpiece Policy Collections and for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, his services are frequently requested to appraise and broker for high-profile clients including private and public institutions.
In addition to appearing on Antiques Roadshow, he has been featured on CNN, MSNBC, Fox TV, HGTV, in The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Art & Auction and Garden & Gun magazines.
Several of Mr. Jones' recent brokered deals have set world auction records including a portrait of Johann Sebastian Bach attributed to E.G. Haussmann.
