Quart is the Executive Director of the Economic Hardship Reporting Project and the author of five nonfiction books, including “Squeezed: Why Our Families Can’t Afford America” and the forthcoming “Bootstrapped: Liberating Ourselves from the American Dream.” She is also a contributor to The New York Times, The Guardian, The Washington Post, The New York Review of Books, and many other publications.
