The need for genuine connection, parental responsibility in an age of technological and social media saturation, and the importance of helping the young tell their life stories: These are just some of the topics addressed by author Dave Eggers and host Bob McKinnon in this episode of “Attribution.”
Eggers has written numerous books including “The Every,” “The Museum of Rain,” and “A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius.” He is the founder of McSweeney’s, an independent publishing company based in San Francisco that produces books, a humor website, and a journal of new writing, as well as Voice of Witness, a nonprofit book series that uses oral history to illuminate human rights crises around the world.
Eggers is also the founder of ScholarMatch, a nonprofit organization that connects college-bound students with resources, schools and donors; as well as a co-founder of 826 National, a network of writing and tutoring centers for young people across the United States.
