Discussions of War – Jewish Americans in WWII
Host Jeff Smith sits down with Holocaust survivor Dr. Zev Harel in the Airborne and Special Operations Museum in Fayetteville, North Carolina to discuss his life during World War II in Europe. Dr. Harel was first sent from Transylvania to the Auschwitz concentration camp when he was 14 years old. He survived Auschwitz in Poland, and the Mauthausen and Ebensee slave labor camps in Austria.
Funded by the Corporation of Public Broadcasting, the GI JEWS: Jewish Americans in World War II National Production and Community Engagement Initiative seeks to build awareness, enthusiasm and utilization of the film through the production of local companion content and community engagement events.
