Images of Abraham, Tad and Mary Lincoln Complete

Congratulations! You have successfully analyzed these images.

Image A shows a photograph of Abraham Lincoln and his son Tad. Tad is the only member of Abraham Lincoln’s family with whom Abraham Lincoln was formally photographed. In Image B, Mary Todd Lincoln, Abraham’s wife, has been painted into the picture. Tad’s given name is actually “Thomas.” Tad is a nickname, short for the word “tadpole.” When Tad was young, Abraham thought that Tad’s head looked very large on his small body, like that of a tadpole. Mary Todd Lincoln refused to be photographed with her husband, due in part to the fact that she was more than a foot shorter than him. (She was 5’2 and Abraham Lincoln was 6’4.)
