At the age of 81, Franklin was the senior delegate at the Constitutional
Convention in Philadelphia. His final speech to the Convention urged all
delegates to show unanimous support for the new nation by signing the
Constitution. In signing the document, Franklin became the only founding
father to sign all of the major founding documentsthe Declaration
of Independence, the Treaty of Paris with England, and the United
States Constitution.
