These
BrotherMen are legendary songwriters Kenneth
Gamble and Leon Huff, producers of "The Sound
of Philadelphia"; photographer Chester
Higgins Jr., who documents the African Diaspora
in America and worldwide; choreographer/performer David
Roussève, Vice Chair, World Arts and Cultures
at UCLA; and the late Pops Staples,
performer, civil rights activist and patriarch of the
Staple Singers.
Interweaving
performances, music, dance, photography, archival footage
and interviews, BrotherMen celebrates the lives
and enduring achievements of these African American artists.
