How did you arrive in the U.S.? I went from Khartoum to greece and from Greece to New York and Houston, Texas

Why did you immigrate to the U.S.? I left Ethiopia when Megistu Hailemarim the brutal dictaror Presidnet of Ethiopia declard a red terror to Kill all political oppents 1978. So many of my friends has been killed. I had four sitster and three brothers. Every body in my family war arrested except my young brother who was 9 years old , my mama and my dad.My cousin who was 12 years old was kidnapped from the street of AddisAbaba.
My cousin was found dead the next moring next to a river. My dad and his dad has to pay money for the bullet to recover the dead body. I was arrested for one year. When i got of the prison. I was told by authroites to sign my name twice a day at the head of a police. I was also told if any kind of anti-goverment movement happen in our aread. They will imprison me again. It was very scary. My father arranged me to live the country by crossing the border. It was a two day trip by bus. After that, we walked for almost a week at night to escape from Ethiopia to the neighboruing Sudan. If we were cought, we will be tortured and killed. If I had stayed, I would have been dead too, I chose to leave the country. I stayed in sudan as a political refugee. While I was in Sudan, the United states goverment was resettling refugees from sudan to the United states. I was sponsored by YMCA.I finally come to the Unted States.
