My Faith History

As a child I believed ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator A funny belief I had as a child was that every year at Easter time Jesus actually came down from Heaven to die on the cross. I thought it happened every single year. I also worried about who was going to take care of the old people in Heaven while Jesus was on Earth for a few days.
I was raised as ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I was raised as a Lutheran. I have been one ever since I was baptized when I was a month old. I will always be Lutheran and I will raise my children the same way. I'm glad I was raised in the church because it has made my life so much easier. I have known all my life that God loves me no matter what I do and I will always have that. It is also good because my entire family believes the same thing I do so it makes it way easier to keep my faith, go to church regularly and to grow in my faith with them.
Are your beliefs or practices different from your parents? If so, how and why? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Not at all. I believe exactly what my parents believe because they instilled their beliefs (which are the same for both of them - which I think its crucial to a successful marriage) in me from the time that I was born.

How I Practice My Faith

How easy or difficult is it to live your faith? Why? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Living with my faith is pretty easy now because of the situation I'm in. I go to a Lutheran school where all my friends and pretty much everyone else believes the same exact thing that I do and I live with my family who also have the same faith as me. It might be a little harder to live with and to maintain when I go to college. It probably won't be that difficult though since I'm going to a Catholic university so a lot of people will have the same beliefs as me, some will have similar, and most others will be accepting of other religious beliefs. So it will still be a religious environment where most people will have faith in some religion. The time it could be the hardest to handle will be when I'm no longer in college and I'm living with other roomates or something like that. Out in the secular world, you do not know who you could end up working with or living with. So right now it is extremely easy to live out but it will eventually get more difficult.

Religion & the Public Square

Should the Bible, Torah, Quran or other religious texts be taught as works of literature in public schools? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I do not think that they should be taught as works of literature because its not like a book that you can read and write a paper on in a couple of weeks. The public schools say they want to be neutral and not influence any of the students, but I think that could end up influencing someone. It would also prompt discussion where opinions and criticisms could naturally come out in discussion with the teacher or fellow students.
