Assembling the Team Salvucci hired a consortium of engineers and construction managers from two large firms: Bechtel Corporation (one of Hoover Dam's Six Companies) and Parsons Brinckerhoff. The Big Dig was split into some fifty separate designs. Those designs, in turn, were divided into roughly 120 construction contracts. During the peak of the construction, four to five thousand construction workers labored on the project. |
