Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr.
, is a prominent attorney who has defended such
high-profile clients as Riddick Bowe, Sean "Puffy" Combs, and O.J. Simpson and
won record-breaking jury awards or negotiated settlements for police misconduct
in the city of Los Angeles, the state of New Jersey, the state of Illinois, and
the city of New York. Founding partner at the firm, Cochran, Schneider, Kleinick,
Weitz, Damashek & Shoot, Cochran is the recipient of numerous national and
regional honors. In 1995 the National Law
Journal named him "Trial Lawyer of the Year" and in January 2000 the same
publication included him in their list of the nation's "100 Most Influential
