In his interview with Bill Moyers, Wendell Potter told the story of his trip in 2007 to visit a "medical expedition" in Wise, Virginia run by the non-profit
Remote Area Medical (RAM). The organization, founded by
Stan Brock in 1985, provides free health care, dental care, eye care, veterinary services and technical and educational assistance to people in remote areas of the U.S. and the world.
Wendell Potter returned to Wise County for another health care expedition on July 24, 2009 and plans to
visit another in Los Angeles, August 8-11.
