Your Natural Heritage
If you like the great outdoors and marvel at the diversity of life, you might be alarmed to learn that many plant and animal species are unlikely to survive severe climate change. Recent studies present some sobering numbers. One 2004 study reported in the journal Nature theorized that nearly 40% of a sample of 1,103 land plants and animals could become extinct as a result of climate change by 2050.
