Since
the production of SUN RIVER HOMESTEAD wrapped in September
2000, Rebecca Lee, Esther Strasburger's great granddaughter,
has continued her academic career at Miles Community College
in Miles City, Montana. While "Clancy," the horse
featured in SUN RIVER HOMESTEAD, takes it easy back in Lee's
hometown of Choteau, Montana, Lee herself busily trains two
younger horses. This spring she competes in the Big Sky Rodeo
Region. She will barrel race with "Sneaker" and
ride "Blue Bert Stinger" during the roping competition.
Lee will travel across the state to rodeos in Helena, Glendive,
and Missoula.
Lee plans on attending The University of Montana in Missoula
(Go Griz!) this fall. While she pursues a degree in English
Literature, she'll provide new fuel to the never-ending Griz/Cat
debate between hometown relatives.
The following are photos from the production of SUN RIVER
HOMESTEAD. Still photographer Andrew Kemmis followed Lee between
rodeo competitions and practices across Montana.
