Universal Music Enterprises and Sony Music have formed a unique partnership, sharing catalogues and all associated costs, to create a series of CDs and value-added DVDs to complement The Blues. They are producing and distributing in the States and abroad a five-CD box set, a "Best of" CD, seven individual soundtrack CDs with tracks selected by the directors to accompany each film, and twelve single artist collections. The Blues series is distributed on DVD and home video in North America through Columbia/Legacy. All seven films will be released as a collectors' set concurrently with the PBS broadcast.
