Hold a Discussion in Your Congregation

A discussion guide was created to help congregations, seminaries and other groups continue the exploration of the issues raised in the film and the Many Voices project. The guide and a video tape from the Many Voices project was mailed to interested groups around the country and the guide is also available through this site.

This guide was designed to help discussion groups engage in informal dialogue about the role of religion institutions in America today by providing thought-provoking questions, articles written by experts, background material, and an extensive list of follow-up resources. The materials provided are intended to provide a framework for both clergy and lay leaders to explore the issues presented with the goal of improving and enhancing congregational life.

It is recommended that anyone interested in leading such a group download the PDF file of the guide and read it through carefully prior to planning discussions in order to develop a clear plan for leading discussion. Although additional copies of the video tape are not available at this time, participants may be directed to this site to view video segments from the Many Voices area prior to discussion.
