Committee Meets on Little Vittles

Chicopee, Nov. 17 -- A general meeting of the Operation Little Vittles committee was held this afternoon in the high school with representatives from each of the city's 22 schools making a report on their progress in the program. The meeting was presided over by Mary C. Connors of Elms College who is president of the committee.

Each school representative told the part his school is taking in the program and how it is being carried out. The making of parachutes, which takes most of the time of the youngsters, was emphasized. The matter of taking up collections to defray several minor expenses was also discussed.

Wilfred Thivierge, adult advisor to the school children, stressed that the success of the project rests with them. The motto of the Operation is "For the children, by the children, and of the children." The co-operation of each one present is necessary in order to have all of the children of the city taking part, he said.
