Q: How did you hear about the WASP program?
Well, actually through a fellow horseperson. Sue Ford her name was and she was
one of the first to be sent to England, because she had many hours of flying.
And she was going down to be interviewed by Jackie about getting into the WASP
and said "Why don't you come too?" and so we both had interviews. And she was
sent immediately to England. They had about . . . I guess you've already
heard, about a dozen of the very experienced pilots who went straight over to
help there. Also, my family is from England and we had been there.
