Teresa James on: Stunt Flying
Teresa James When I first started out, I would do three turns in a spin. Where you go up to altitude and you spin around three times and pull out. And then I did a couple of loops and a couple of wing overs, and a couple of rolls. And then I just kept adding. I got my confidence up. And I just kept adding and kept going higher and higher. Until I finally wind up doing 26 and a half turn spins. That is what I was noted for. So one day at an air show, Walter Beech, from Beech Aircraft, who made this Travel ArrowX5 said to me, "Teresa," he says, "I don't think you should be doing that. You look like you're going into a flat spin." And a flat spin actually spins flat and you can't get it out of the spin. But I trimmed the airplane so it would be nose heavy. After Walter Beech told me that, I quit doing it. So,I suppose I was into four years of stunting when I quit doing that.
