Federalists vs. Republicans (1:12)

Man: Federalists want to increase the power of the presidency, Republicans, to diminish it. Federalists want a permanent army, Republicans think the militia can do the job. Federalists think that liberty is in danger from the people, Republicans think liberty is in danger from the government.

Card: A Federalist newspaperman is so furious at the Republican party that he runs out of words and must make up a few.

Peter Fenner, newspaperman: The Republican party is the source from which all sedition flows. And until that crodiloferous and ostentiferous institution is discancatenated, and the individuals who compose it experience decalation, their querulous bominations and demolitions will never cease to obnubalate the prospects of their superiors.
