Any Jewish boy, any boy would have to respect their father on a certain level, though they might have differences of various sorts. Since his father was a rabbi, a teacher, a learned person, I think that Houdini, as shown later on in his life, tried to become a learned person, a scholar, in spite of the fact that he had very little basic education. Most of that was gained in the streets and on the road. But his respect for his father as a rabbi, as a teacher, had to be quite strong....
