Behind the Scenes

Making Abraham and Mary Lincoln: A House Divided took producer David Grubin and his crew 65 full days of shooting, 232 reels of film and hundreds of hours to cut together. In the following interviews, David Grubin talks about the daunting task of writing and producing a six-hour dual biography of the Lincolns and cinematographer James Callanan explains several tricks of his trade -- how certain digital and in-camera effects were achieved.
