Q: What was it about flying you think, that made him so happy?
AML: Well, those were the golden days of flying. You know, they were the
beginning. Certainly, he had flown the mail and that was rather regular but
they would land in some farmer's field. That's what it was. It was
exploration. The fact that he had barn stormed and he did circus acts,
actually, I mean he stood up. The planes were not going very fast that he
could stand on the wing. But it was adventure, I think.
