NAKASONE: When I saw the photograph of MacArthur when he arrived at Atsugi
Airport, looking around the surroundings, twirling his corncob pipe in his
hand... I thought, finally the ruler had arrived from a foreign country.
Then, my thought was that I would wait and see whether he would be a real free
democracy believer, in a true sense, or a tyrant.
Q: Which was he?
NAKASONE: I think that he was about a 80% free democracy believer.
