Students & Teachers: Resource Guide

  Back to Introduction

Partners of the Heart raises issues that resonate today. Two people from vastly different backgrounds, who most likely would not have met socially, join forces and do something historically significant. Neither could have accomplished it alone. The lessons of the story are bittersweet and complicated by the strictures of its times, when segregation and economic limitations created barriers to advancement and to the development of relationships.

These issues are still debated today in schools, workplaces, and among friends. Access an activity-packed resource guide, created with classrooms and community organizations in mind.

The Partners resource guide is available in PDF format or as a Microsoft Word document. Either format allows you to view and print the guide.
