Four presidents on Mount RushmoreThe National Park Service conducts an informal poll asking visitors to Mount Rushmore who their favorite president is. Since the beginnings of this poll in 1997, Abraham Lincoln has never strayed from the top position, winning over 20% of the quarter million votes cast. The rankings as of July 2001 were as follows:

  1. Abraham Lincoln
  2. Ronald Reagan
  3. George Washington
  4. John F. Kennedy
  5. Bill Clinton
  6. George H. W. Bush
  7. Franklin D. Roosevelt
  8. Theodore Roosevelt
  9. Harry Truman
  10. Thomas Jefferson

Four of the top ten are immortalized on Rushmore. FDR has a memorial in the Washington, D.C. area. Which of the other five do you think deserves a national monument?
