Oscar Otis:
...and there they go to a perfect start. At the break it's Specify going to the front, Wedding Call is second on the rail. Whichcee is third and moving up between horses. Seabiscuit is fourth. On the outside, Don Mike is second and Royal Crusader is going up very fast. In the middle of the track coming by the stands the first time it's Seabiscuit in front by a head. Whichcee is second, and now going to the front on the inside by a neck.

Into the first turn it's Whichcee in front by one length. Seabiscuit is second on the outside by a head. Specify is third and saving ground on the rail by a head. Royal Crusader is fourth on the outside by a length and a half. Ra is fifth on the rail by a head. Wedding Call is next by a length and a half. Viscounty is sixth. Can't Wait and way back is Don Mike and way, way back, the very, very last horse is Kayak II but he's not too far away.

And now they're turning onto the back stretch, and it's Whichcee in front by one length. Seabiscuit is second between horses by a head. Royal Crusader is third and driving on the outside. The lightweight Wedding Call is going up very fast on the outside by two lengths. Specify is next by a length and a half. Viscounty, and there goes Kayak on the extreme outside. Kayak is making his move, and Don Mike is moving from far back.

Now they're at the far turn, and it's Whichcee still in front by three-quarters of a length. Seabiscuit is second and driving. Seabiscuit is making his drive of old. He's challenging for the lead, and Kayak is challenging on the extreme outside and Don Mike.

Into the stretch, it's Wedding Call, now going to the front on the outside by a head. Whichcee is second by a half a length. Seabiscuit is third, between horses, by a half a length, and Kayak is now fourth and flying under pressure on the outside.

In the stretch, it's Seabiscuit foraging to the front, Kayak is second on the outside, and Whichcee on the rail. It's Seabiscuit and Kayak. It's Seabiscuit under the whip. Now they're coming across the line to finish.

And it's Seabiscuit a winner by a length and a quarter. Kayak is second by one length. Whichcee is third. War Plumage is next by a head. Heelfly on the outside. Viscounty. Wedding Call. Can't Wait, Specify. And way, way back Kantan. And Ra [II] stopped and the time is 2:01 and one-fifth. 2:01 and one-fifth which is a new track record and here is the official placing of the judges: Seabiscuit is the winner, Kayak II was second, and Whichcee was third, and Wedding Call was fourth.
