Two officers came to the house and when I went in they told me that Terry had been reported missing in action and I knew that that's what they said before they had made positive identifications on the bodies. I knew that he was dead.
I started screaming at the officers and I told them that they were lying to me and that I knew that he was dead. And then I also started yelling at them and berating them for the war in Vietnam, as though it had been their fault. And I do remember the looks on their faces; these men had this horrible job. They had come to give me this terrible news and here was this mad woman screaming at them.
