In 1966 everybody knew people who were being drafted, volunteering for the service or avoiding the service or going to college and there was a little bit of all of that going on. But certainly, I saw it as a fair choice for people to go into service later rather than sooner and many of my friends in high school chose to do that and went on to college and were very successful.
