When I left with my wife and other people around us, we were dumbfounded that we were not arrested, that the authorities seemed not to be interested in arresting people as much as they were interested in attacking the demonstrators and making a statement that occupying buildings and obstructing interview rooms was not going to be tolerated and it would be met with force, physical force, not with mass arrests.
And I can remember leaving the building and walking away and my head was just spinning. I thought everything had changed.
