Cassius Spears, a cultural educator for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, describes the process that he went through working with the prop, wardrobe and make-up departments to prepare for the After the Mayflower shoot. “A movie like this is just starting to show little bits at a time about what happened,” Spears says. “I think it will take off. I think that more people will be interested and hopefully, more movies will be made, and more of the youth will understand and learn more.”
