We Shall Remain: Tennessee

www.WTCItv.org

We Shall Remain: Tennessee is an initiative to honor Native Americans and their struggles through the monument "The Passage" and The Trail of Tears. We Shall Remain: Tennessee will also incorporate the youth of Tennessee by seeking out their opinions and ideas.

This image represents one of seven, six-foot ceramic disks that are part of The Passage exhibit in downtown Chattanooga, the nation’s largest public art project celebrating Cherokee history and culture. Each disk tells the story of the Cherokee Nation from hundreds of years of Native American habitation in the southeast. The Passage is located on the Trail of Tears at Ross’s Landing, the city’s original settlement, named for the great Cherokee Chief John Ross. Photo credit: David Andrews
