Students: Please note that the answers to these questions are derived from the CIA's World Factbook. If you were to choose a different site the answers might differ. In addition, including or eliminating various economic factors can change economic statistics.

Procedure

  • Locate the China entry in the CIA's World Factbook 2002, which can be found at http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/ch.html
  • Under "Categories," select Economy
  • Read the section labeled "Overview" and look for information on economic problems and successes.
  • Use the economic statistics from this section to fill out the worksheet.
  • Repeat this process for the United States.
