I can't say that Roxana and I are friends. In fact it's probably been 4 years since I've had any sort of contact with her, but I think of her as a comrade, and I'm very concerned about hearing that she's been arrested.Roxana and I both arrived in Tehran in early 2003, beginning our careers with the monumental task of trying to cover Iran. I was there 6 months. She's been there 6 years. She and I didn't meet often, but we spoke on the phone regularly as we patiently waited for our security clearances. I remember celebrating the issuing of our Iranian press cards in the coffeeshop at the computer center at the start of Mirdamad St.I've often been questioned about safety concerns traveling to Iran. My gut has always told me that being born outside of Iran-especially to a non-Iranian mother- made me somehow safe. This certainly changes that.

Why no one mentioned that she is an Iranian and while in Iran she must due according to their law. If you can stay in a country for 6 years, then you should know to follow the laws
