David Lackey David Lackey has been collecting antiques since the age of six and dealing since he was 12. Reared in west Texas and New Mexico, he began to buy antique toys, depression glass and assorted junk at garage sales, flea markets and small-town auctions in the mid-1960s. After graduating from Baylor University, Mr. Lackey held a "real" job until 1983, when he embraced antiques as a full-time business. From 1985-1986 he studied at the Christie's Fine Arts course in London with a specialization in ceramics and has since been an active dealer in Houston. He is an obsessive collector of antique English Regency period ceramics and vintage Texas and Louisiana art.

David Lackey Antiques and Art specializes in 18th- and 19th-century furniture, ceramics, decorative arts and 20th-century regionalist art. Mr. Lackey is a member of the Houston Antique Dealers Association, the Ima Hogg Ceramics Circle and the Center for the Advancement and Study of Early Texas Art (CASETA). He is often quoted in national magazines on the subjects of antiques and collecting. Although he does not give written appraisals, Mr. Lackey does extensive consultation work for area appraisers and auction houses.

Mr. Lackey started a china- and crystal-matching service in 1981 that has merged with partners to form eDish, with showrooms in Houston and Salt Lake City. They specialize in matching antique, discontinued and pre-owned fine china, pottery, crystal stemware, and sterling flatware patterns.
