The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations

The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations, based in Jacksonville, Florida, are a national philanthropic organization established through the generosity of the late American industrialist, Arthur Vining Davis. Mr. Davis' wish was that the Trustees fund projects that would, in their best judgment, strengthen the nation's future. To fulfill that directive, the Foundations support public television as well as higher education, secondary education, theological education and health care.

With an overarching look at innovators and entrepreneurs that made and continue to make the U.S. powerful, They Made America illuminates the trail of far-reaching creativity that has transformed the world. The Davis Foundations are proud to join WGBH in celebrating innovations, entrepreneurs, and the achievements of the nation.
