Activities for the classroom
You are the teacher of a group of 4 year olds, and among the children is a boy who has an artificial arm and a substitute hand that is made of metal and looks like Captain Hook's artificial hand. He is also quite lame and clumsy. Even though the other children in the group are genuinely nice to him, he is very self-conscious and thinks no one likes him. He spends most of his time in the book corner, refusing to try to do much of anything else saying, "I'll do it tomorrow," or "My Mother doesn't want me to do that." Do you think this is a case of low self-esteem? Suggest a number of possible ways you could help this child blossom.
