Why on earth would the United States veto a bid by the Palestinians to become an internationally recognized free nation? We know that God is not a racist because Paul said in Colossians 3:11 says, “Here there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free man, but Christ is all, and in all.” We also know that there is no “Holy Land” because Jesus said in Luke 17:20, “the Kingdom of God is in the midst of you.” Numerous commandments prohibit military occupation ot other peoples’ land: thou shall not kill, shall not steal, shall not covet. You have to disparage a people in order to deny them their human rights so, the commandment against bearing false witness also applies. We also know from reading Genesis that it is wrong to deny human rights to the Palestinians because God created man in his own image: not just Americans and not just Israelis, but all human beings. Therefore, both Christianity and Judiasm demand human rights for the Palestinians.
